Marie Hebert
1926-2017
RICHIBUCTO, NB –
Marie Hebert, 91, of Richibucto passed away peacefully at the
Dr.-Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital on Thursday, December
28th, 2017. Born in St.
Chrysostome, PEI, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Leonide
(Arseneault) Arseneault. Before retiring, Marie worked many years as a
social worker for the Province of New Brunswick. She was a past
president of the Ladies Auxiliary (Legion Branch #30, Richibucto), CWL
and had served on the board of directors at
Deja-Vu.
Marie will be sadly missed by her two daughters,
Eileen Leger of Rexton and Cathy McDermid (Lyle) of Spruce Grove, AB;
five sons, Wayne (Simone) of Jardineville, Harvey (Jill) of Rexton,
Myles (Cathy) of Dartmouth, NS, Timmy (Donna) of Rexton and Andrew
Arseneault (Kitty) of Halifax, NS; as well as 18 grandchildren, 31
great grandchildren and 2 great great
grandchildren.
Marie also leaves to mourn one sister, Julia Leclerc
(late Gerard) of Alberton, PEI; one brother, Raymond Arseneault
(Betty) of Charlottetown, PEI; as well as many nieces and
nephews.
Besides her parents, Marie is predeceased by her
husband, Edgar; infant daughter, Marie-Mae; son, Gordon; great
grandson, Colton; and siblings, Sally, Sister Aline, Alma, Joe,
Freddy, Emile and Alban.
Visitation will be held at Thompson’s
Funeral Home, Richibucto on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm and Wednesday
from noon until departure for the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be
celebrated on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2018 at 2:00pm, Immaculate
Conception Roman Catholic Church, Rexton.
In lieu
of flowers, if so desired, donations in Marie’s memory to a
charity of choice would be appreciated by the
family.
The
family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at the
Dr.-Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital
(3rd and
4th floors), as well as to the
staff of Le Havre Residences, Richibucto for the care and compassion
given to Marie during her
stay.
