FALCONE, Maria Gioconda
September 6, 1923 – December 9, 2017
Maria devoted Mother, Nanna, Nonna passed away peacefully at Holy Family Hospital on December 9, 2017 at the age of 94. She was predeceased by her husband Mario (September 16, 1988) and both her parents, Antonio and Maria, and 8 older siblings. Survived by her loving family, two sons Carmine (Ann) and Semi (Maria) four grandchildren Mario (Cheryl), Michelle (Matthew), Daniella, Stephanie and 4 great-grandchildren Zoe, Rylan, Sophie and Lia. Brothers-in-law Joe (Ursula), Pasquale (Lina), sisters-in-law Gina (Giovanni), Carmelina (Alfonso) as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends in Canada, U.S.A. and Italy. Maria was a wonderful loving and caring mother and grandmother, that gave her all to the family, and was deeply loved by family and friends alike. She was a deeply devoted Catholic and volunteered at various churches and will be greatly missed by all those that knew her. The family would like to express our sincerest thank you and gratitude to the wonderful staff and volunteers at Holy Family Hospital for their kindness and care of our mother. Prayers will be offered at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 14 at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 2025 Napier St., Vancouver, BC where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 15. Entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park, Abbey Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
