Maria Gabriella Torma
1928-2017
Maria Torma, 89, of Forest Dale Home, Riverside-Albert
passed away peacefully on May 11th, 2017 at the home.
Maria was born in Budapest, Hungary on January 28th, 1928.
The daughter of (father) Belma Torma and (mother) Sutha
Maria.
Maria and her husband Joseph Szoke were married October
17th, 1950 and came to Canada in 1957. Maria spent most of
her adult life with Eric, Gayle and Rachael Steeves and their extended
family. Maria has no living relatives. For the past 12 years
has been a resident of Forest Dale Home and the staff became « her
girls ». She will be remembered for her flamboyant ways,
she loved makeup and jewelry. Maria’s kindness to animals and her love
of beauty will always be remembered. Maria loved music and
the royal family. She was infatuated with Frank Sinatra and
loved his song » I Did It My Way », this is how Maria lived
her life-She definitely did it her way. Her last birthday
was very special, Gayle put it on social media and Maria got over 100
cards, flowers and gifts she felt like royalty and was so
happy. These are the times we will cherish, she is now at
peace flying with the butterflies.

She will be deeply missed by Gayle & Rachael
Steeves and by everyone she knew at Forest Dale
Home.
There will be a Graveside Service at Bayview Cemetery,
Harvey, Albert County on May 17th, 2017 at 11:00am with Rev. Barbara
Haire-Jubb officiating. After the service a reception will
follow at the home of Audrey and Jim Campbell, 156 Water Street,
Riverside-Albert, NB.
Donations to the Forest Dale Home or charity of the donor’s
choice would be greatly appreciated.
Forest Dale’s love and kindness to Maria will never be
forgotten. A special thank you to the Albert County Funeral
Home for their professional service and support.
