Margaret Kenzie Selman

Kenzie Selman passed away peacefully on October 17, 2016 at Vancouver General Hospital with family at her side. Kenzie was born July 13, 1939, the daughter of Kenneth and Margaret Smith of Powell River, BC. She will be deeply missed by her husband and best friend of 56 years, Don Selman; daughters, Cathy (David) Timms and Jen Selman; granddaughter, Heather Timms; brother, Donald Smith; as well as many relatives and friends.
A caring person and good listener, Kenzie was admired and well loved by all who knew her. A graduate of UBC’s Faculty of Arts, Kenzie had a deep interest in art and was for many years Sotheby’s International’s associate for Vancouver and the Interior, assisting clients in bringing their paintings and treasures to auction.
Kenzie loved to read and to cook, but her passion was travel. A willing, if sometimes sceptical partner, Kenzie joined Don in many adventures; camping, canoeing, RVing, fishing at Pennask Lake, and exploring the Gulf Islands, West Coast and Alaska on the various family boats. Kenzie especially loved to see the world by cruise ship and she and Don enjoyed many voyages to ports across much of the globe. Kenzie also enjoyed trips with her family and friends on canal boats in Germany, France and England, on sailing trips in the Caribbean, visiting family in Scotland, and in earlier years to Japan, Hong Kong and Australia.
We would like to thank Drs. Richard Cook and Rael Klein, RN’s Liz and Jenny and the highly professional staff at CSICU and cardiac surgery ward of VGH for the care and understanding they gave Kenzie and her family during her stay.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Margaret
