Margaret « Pat » E. O’Hearn
1921-2016
The family announce the passing of Margaret « Pat »
E. O’Hearn at the Moncton Hospital on Thursday, December 15,
2016 in her 95th year.
Margaret was born in Stephenfield,
Manitobia, daughter of William J. and Margaret J. (Burns)
Card.
Educated in Manitoba Schools worked as a student for T. Eaton
Co. Wpg. At the beginning of W.W.II she went to work at #35 Elementary
Flying Training School in Nephawa, Manitoba where she met her husband
to be Bannon. After the war they moved to Moncton to live. She was
employed at Blue Cross, Federal Government and 14 years with the hard
of hearing.
Margaret founded the Girl Guide movement for the Bridgedale
area. Active for many years with Home & School Assoc. Past
President of the Mildred Bennett I.O.D.E. Chapter, St. John Ambulance
and Trefoil Guiders. She was instrumental in the formation of the
Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church and lending her voice
to « The Incredibles » and the Bridgedale Seniors. She enjoyed
bowling for many years and a good card game with her
friends.
Survived by her daughter Maureen Oatway (the late Michael) of
Riverview; two sons Rick (Karen) of Grand Barachois and Robert
(Theresa) of Alberta; grandchildren Mark (Jenn) and Marnie Oatway,
Tiffany (Jeff Davies), Zachery O’Hearn; great grandchildren Owen and
Brynn Oatway; nephew Eugene Hubbard (Lois) of Maine, also by
2 nieces.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Bannon
O’Hearn in 2014.
A funeral mass will be held at The Immaculate Heart of Mary
Church, Riverview on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 11:00 am with Father
Charles Broderick officiating.
Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery in the
spring. Also, Pat’s family will gather privately to
celebrate her life at a later date.
Donations in her memory made to the building fund at
Immaculate Heart or to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital would be
appreciated.
