MARGARET MORPHY (nee ATEAH)
Peacefully at Fred Douglas Lodge on May 30, 2017, Margaret, beloved wife of the late John Morphy died at the age of 97.
She is survived by her son Neil-Jon of Geneva, Switzerland and numerous nieces, nephews and great and great-great nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her husband John in 1999; her parents, Michael and Sophia Ateah; brothers, Alfred, Sam, Eddy and John; sisters, Lily Lester, Sophie David, Louise Purdy, Freda Jonnson and Pansy Lunney.
Margaret was born September 6, 1919 in Winnipeg. She and John were married in 1944 and made Winnipeg their home for many years before moving to Victoria Beach. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Heritage House and Fred Douglas Lodge. Should friends desire, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or the Canadian Wildlife Fund.
A service of Thanksgiving will be held Thursday, June 8 at 1:00 p.m. in the St. Michaels Community Church, Victoria Beach. Interment to follow in the Victoria Beach Cemetery.
