The death occurred at Andrew’s of Stratford on Monday, November
20, 2017 of Margaret Louise Burns, in her 93rd year surrounded by her
family.
Born in Sydney, NS, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary
MacKinnon. Beloved wife of the late Rev. Russell Burns, proud and
loving mother to sons James (Betty), Durham, N.S.; John (Gail),
Quispamsis, N.B.; daughter Janice, Charlottetown, P.E.I.;
grandchildren Michael, David, Deborah, Jamie, Jason, Jordan, Jacob,
Maggie, Gracie and six great-grandchildren. Also survived by two
brothers William and Walter. Predeceased by sisters and brothers
Murdena, James, Florence, and Victor.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Andrew’s
of Stratford, Dr. Megan Armstrong, and the Integrated Palliative Care
team for the wonderful care and support they have provided for Margie
and her family.
Visiting hours will take place at the Belvedere Funeral Home on
Wednesday, November 22nd, from 2-4 and 7-9. A service of celebration
of Margaret’s life will be held at Trinity United Church,
Charlottetown, PEI, on Thursday, November 23rd at 2:00 pm with
reception following.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of
your choice.
