Margaret Hann (McNamara)
1936-2016
Age 79, passed away October 26, 2016 at Hospice House,
Fredericton after a brave fight with cancer over this past year, never
giving up hope that she would win. Marg was born November
14,th 1936 in St. John’s
Newfoundland, the daughter of Austin and Florence McNamara.
Marg was predeceased by her husband Walt; survived by her
children: Karen Anderson (Peter),Halifax; Paul, New Hampshire;
Janet Robichaud (George), Fredericton; Greg (Pamela),
Moncton and her six cherished grandchildren Kate, Patrick, Brandi,
Noah, Greyson and Finley. ‘Margie’ was survived by
her brother, Leo and her sisters, Marie Skiffington and Judy
Carey. She was predeceased by her brothers, Pat, Jim, and
Len. She will be missed by her countless nieces and nephews and the
Hann clan.
Marg grew up in St. John’s and moved to New
Brunswick in 1971. She remained in her Rexton home, built by her
beloved Walt, for 26 years after he passed. She then moved to her
beautiful condo in Moncton where she could often be spotted in various
clothing and home decor shops looking for that perfect item or a good
sale. Marg was always fashionably dressed, her home
decorated for every season complete with home cooking and baking for
her family and neighbours. She was a great story teller. In her last
months, she moved to Fredericton to be cared for by her daughter
Janet.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the
wonderful doctors: Deborah Gowan (Palliative Care,
Fredericton), Beatrix Sainz (Palliative Care, Hospice House ),
Mohammed Harb (Oncology, Moncton), Jodi Enright (Family Practice,
Moncton), and Evelyn Sutton (Rheumatology, Halifax).
Thank you to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit, DR.
Everett Chalmers Memorial Hospital for their kindness. Words cannot
express our gratitude to all the staff of Hospice House Fredericton

life. To all the many friends, caregivers and family who
