Mae « Sadie » Doige Sadie Mae Doige nee Crawford has gone Home with her passing on May 21 in Fredericton, NB. Mae was born on January 17, 1913 in Notre Dame, Kent Co.., NB. She was predeceased by her mother, Catherine nee Dysart (Cocagne) and father, Elisha Crawford (Notre Dame). Mae was predeceased by siblings, Vera Doolan, Harriett Crawford, Winifred Teed, Margaret Hicks, Mildred Ritchie, Hazel Cameron, Elisha, Ellsworth, Everett and two brothers who did not survive babyhood. Eaton’s of Moncton employed Mae for several decades. During W.W. II she was employed in a munitions factory in Toronto. She was a member of Humphrey Memorial Untied Church. She was predeceased by her husband John (Jack) William Doige, who worked with Imperial Oil for several decades. Jack served King and country during World War II as a mechanic on Lancaster bombers in England. Mae is survived by son John Richard and daughter-in-law, Lynda nee Curwen. Her grandchildren include Adam (Edmonton), Matthew (Rebecca), Sandra (Greg Tucker) and Luke. In addition there are seven great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the Staff at Mountainside Lodge, Fredericton, who tenderly cared for her, in her last years. The funeral will take place July 14, at 2:30 pm with visitation at 1:00 pm at Tuttle Brothers and Riverview Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be officiated by Rev. Matthew Maxwell.
