Lydie Maillet
1917-2017
SAINT-LOUIS-DE-KENT, NB
– Lydie Maillet, 100, passed away peacefully at La
Villa Maria, Saint-Louis-de-Kent, on Sunday, May
7th, 2017. Born in Ste-Anne-de-Kent, she
was the daughter of the late Fabien and Anna Arsenault. Lydie was a
parishioner at St-Louis-des-Français and was an
accomplished seamstress, even teaching sewing to
many.
Lydie will be sadly
missed by her two daughters, Raymonde Briggs (Dana) of Barrie, ON and
Isabelle Melanson (Léon) of Edmunston; son, Jacques Maillet
(Ludwina Vanderdonk) of Kanata, ON; nine grandchildren, 10 great
grandchildren and 6 great great
grandchildren.
She also leaves to mourn her sister, Blanche Richard
(late Edgar) of Rexton; daughter-in-law, Bernice (late Ronald) of
Aldouane; sister-in-law, Lorette Arsenault (late Zoël) of
Memramcook; as well as many nieces and
nephews.
Besides her parents, Lydie is predeceased by her
husband, Albert; son, Ronald; sister, Annette; and four brothers,
Laurie, Zoël, Tilmon and Father Paul
Arsenault.
Visitation will be held at Thompson`s Memorial
Home, Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Thursday from 7:00-9:00 pm and Friday
from 2:00 pm until departure for the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be
celebrated Friday, May 12th, 2017
at 4:00 pm, St-Louis-des-Français Roman Catholic Church,
Saint-Louis-de-Kent. Donations to the Heart & Stroke
Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society, activities at
La Villa Maria or to a charity of the donor’s
choice would be appreciated by the family.
A special thank you to the staff at La Villa Maria and Dr.
André Boucher for the excellent care given to
Lydie.
