Luc Savoie

Louis Luc Savoie, 92, beloved husband of Jeanelle, of Georgetown, ON, passed away peacefully on Nov. 5, 2016, in Guelph, ON, after a short and intense battle with bone and lung cancer.
Visitation will be held at J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown, on Friday, Nov. 11, 2016 from 7-9pm.
Funeral service will be held at Maple Avenue Baptist Church, 177 Maple Ave, Georgetown, ON, on Saturday, Nov 12, 2016 at 11am. Burial will follow at Limehouse, ON.
Luc will be remembered warmly by family and friends as a story-teller par excellence, drawing upon his experiences as a commercial fisherman in Northern NB, his adventures as a lumberjack in Québec and his mischievous sense of fun. As a multi-talented musician, he regaled us regularly. His devotion to his family drove him to work tirelessly at a wide range of occupations. He was a very generous man with all that he had. A man of steadfast faith, his dying wish was that many would come to know and love Jesus through him.
Luc is survived by his wife Jeanelle, his brother David, his sisters Émilie Savoie Paulin, Jeanne Lebrun, Bernadette Dotto, his son Paul and daughter-in-law Carol Savoie, his daughter Sylvie and son-in-law Hugh Manary, his grandchildren Lisa, Laura, Lesley and Eric Savoie and Daniel, Alexander and Julie Manary-who will miss her Grampa: “The cookie monster”.
Memorial donations may be made to LIFE Outreach International, P.O. Box 982000, Fort Worth, TX 76182-8000 or the Canadian Cancer Society, Halton Community Office, in lieu of flowers.
The family wishes to thank the many people who have helped Papa on this last part of his earthly journey. A heartfelt thanks to the many caring neighbours, and friends from Maple Avenue Baptist Church, Georgetown Christian Fellowship and beyond, too numerous to name, who became like family. A special thanks also to the many individuals from CCAC Halton, for their years of loving service. Thanks also to the Elliott Community Staff in Guelph, who treated Papa with utmost care and kindness in his short stay with them.
We bid “au revoir” to you, Papa. Now you know fully that “…to die is gain.” Phil. 1:21.

Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Luc Savoie.source
