Sun, Luan Ying “Sarah” – Passed away peacefully at North York General Hospital on Wednesday December 6, 2017 at the age of 78. She is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years Stanislaus Ching-Lin, beloved daughter Cecilia and son-in-law Tom, adored granddaughter Victoria, and dear nieces Chiung Chen, Chiung Yi, and Chiung Hui.
Born on June 6, 1939 in Ping-Tung, Taiwan, she came to Canada in 1967, and had a long career as a Registered Nurse specializing in Labour and Delivery. She first worked at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal where she became Head Nurse. In Toronto, she worked at Mount Sinai Hospital and then North York General Hospital, from where she retired. She was also active for many years in leadership and service at the Chinese Martyrs Catholic Church. Her warmth, love, and dedication brightened all of our lives. During her long period of illness, she was under the care of many fine health care providers. The family would like to express their appreciation especially to Dr. Sonia Kurtz, Dr. Theodore Marras, and the CCAC staff.
The family will be welcoming guests on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Chinese Martyrs Catholic Church located in Markham, Mass beginning at 11:30 a.m..
