Louise Anna Bradley The death of Louise Anna Bradley (nee Kaun) occurred at St. Paul’s Hospital on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the age of 91 years. Louise found comfort in Christ’s words during her final days – “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord” Romans 8: 38-39. Louise is lovingly remembered by daughters, Gail Mitchell (Owen), Joanne Bradley, and Carol Heusdens (Richard) all of Saskatoon; granddaughters, Laura of Toronto, ON and Victoria of Calgary, AB; brother, Arnold Kaun (Peggy) of Creston, BC; sister Pauline MacCrimmon of Abbotsford, BC; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Elmer in 2005, sister Johanna Becker in 1997, and brother, Alvin Kaun in 2003. Louise was born in Middle Lake, Saskatchewan on April 2, 1924 to Lena (Grundmann) and Karl Kaun. While working in Saskatoon she met the man who would be her companion for life, and on June 24, 1947 she married Elmer Bradley of Ontario. Louise was a charter member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church serving as secretary for many years. Louise joyfully served her Lord over the years by delivering Meals on Wheels and Christmas hampers, organizing picnics for the CNIB and assembling baby layettes and Kiddie Kits for Canadian Lutheran World Relief and the RUH maternity ward. In 1997 her LWML friends presented her with a certificate of appreciation for preparing these layettes for so many years. In the community she was a regular canvasser for various charities. She spent many hours knitting baby sweaters and mittens and scarves for the Mitten Tree. Louise was a long-time member of the group that walked at the Field House – she walked 12 years with Elmer and then 10 years on her own. Mom loved flowers and gardening and kept her small patch weed free. Mom was a strong willed person and was determined to stay independent in her own home which she did until a month before her death. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 17 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 627 Taylor Street East with Pastor Murray Keith officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Owen Mitchell, Richard Heusdens, Ralph Becker and Arnold Kaun. Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Tuesday afternoon Seniors Bible Study group and the members of the Field House exercise group that Louise attended. A special thank you goes to the prayer support given by the church’s Prayer Chain, and spiritual support given by Pastors Murray Keith, Lowell Guebert and Howard Ulmer. Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 627 Taylor Street East, Saskatoon, S7H 1V9.
