Lorraine Marie Olive Hanley (nee Gagnon)
1940-2017
It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Lorraine on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at the North Bay Regional Health Centre at the age of 76. Lorraine was predeceased by her husband Francis (Frank) and sons, Patrick and Michael. She will be sadly missed by her brothers and sisters: John Madden (Lise), Shannon Tessier (Claude), Marcel Madden (Diane), Wayne Madden, Claude Madden, Linda Rioux (Richard), Kelly Madden (Sue) and sister-in law Lise Potvin Madden. Lorraine will be fondly remembered by her extended Hanley family: her brother and sister-in-laws. She will also be dearly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Alphonse and Alida Gagnon, her sister Lena Madden, and brothers Maxime “Colo”Gagnon and Robert “Bob” Madden.
In accordance with Lorraine’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. A private burial service will take place at the Timmins Memorial Cemetery on Monday, March 20, 2017.
Lorraine was known for her caring ways and generosity to all. She was a lady of many talents and abilities. There were not many tasks or crafts that Lorraine was not able to master. Lorraine overcame a number of challenges and was always thinking of others. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Rotondo and the staff of the North Bay Regional Health Centre (Palliative Care Unit) for the wonderful care and support during Lorraine’s hospital stay.
