Lois Marjorie (Steeves) Hume
1915-2017
Lois Hume of Moncton, formerly of Riverview, passed away
peacefully at her residence surrounded by her loving family on
Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at the age of 101. Born in Lower Coverdale,
she was the daughter of the late Henry and Ina (Downing) Steeves and
was a former employee of T. Eaton Co. She was a dedicated Pentecostal
who devoted her life to God. She was a homemaker, seamstress, expert
apple butter maker, baker extraordinaire and a generous
gardener.
She will be deeply missed by her son Eric (Hazel) of
Riverview; daughter, Pat Hume (Bill Parks) of Lower Coverdale;
grandchildren; Terry Hume (Lisa), Randy Hume (Ann), Dale Hume (Lesa),
Talina Bourgeois (Ronald Martin), Monique Bourgeois (Steve Kirk),
great-grandchildren; Dale, Rebecca, Sarah, Andrew, Rachel-Ann,
Nicholas and Naomi, as well several nieces and nephews. Lois
was predeceased by her husband, Murdock, of 68 years in 2009;
brothers, Aulden, Lawrence, and Millard; sisters, Adelaide, Bernice,
Bernadine, Daphna, and Mildred.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd.
Riverview, (869-2007), on Friday from 6-8pm. The funeral service will
take place at Cobb’s Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on
Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 11:00am with Rev. Shawn Annis officiating.
The interment will take place in Wilmot Cemetery, Lower Coverdale.
Donations in Lois’s memory can be made to a memorial of the
donor’s choice. Condolences may be expressed at
