Linda Hannay
1947-2017
REXTON, NB – Linda Hannay 70, of Rexton, passed
away peacefully at the Moncton City Hospital on Thursday, September
14, 2017. Born in Rexton, NB, Linda was the wife of the late
Rodney Hannay and the daughter of Jean (Keswick) Girvan and the late
Lloyd Girvan.
After raising her family, Linda began a career in real
estate. She worked for Century 21 Countryside Realty for 30
years before retiring in October 2016. Linda was a member of
St. Andrew’s United Church in Rexton, member of St.
Andrew’s Board of Stewards & Trustees, member of
NUCW, Treasurer of West Galloway Cemetery, GMRA, NBCREA, CREA and the
founder of St. Andrew’s Church Memory
Tree.
Linda will be sadly missed by her three sons, Todd Hannay
(Susan), Troy Hannay (Tracy), Brent Hannay (Denise) all of Main River;
one daughter, Heidi Warren (Darren) of Methodist Point; nine
grandchildren, Whitney, Tye, Taylor, Hillary, Kassie, Chelsea, Sawyer,
Noah, Talli; two step-grandchildren, Peter and Laura and three great
grandsons, Lochlan, Keswick and Sterling.
She is also survived by three sisters, Shelley Beers (Lorne)
of Rexton, Nancy MacDonald (Lonnie) of PEI, Toby Campbell (Ronnie) of
Rexton and many nieces and nephews.
Linda was predeceased by her husband, Rodney Hannay (May
2017).
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A
celebration of Linda’s life will be held at St.
Andrew’s United Church in Rexton on Tuesday, September 19,
2017 at 11:00 am. A private family burial will be held at a
later date. There will be a luncheon to follow the service
at the Rexton Curling Club. Everyone is welcome.
In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations in Linda’s memory
may be made to St. Andrew’s United Church, The West Galloway
Cemetery and everyone is encouraged to participate in
#BeccaToldMeTo. Arrangements are in care of
