Driedger, Linda Diane (nee:Smith) Passed away peacefully at the age of 59 at Grand River Hospital on June 14, 2016 with her husband Ron of 40 years and daughter Christine Driedger by her side. Linda was much loved by her mother, Geraldine Lambert, brother David Smith (Sarah) and their children Cassandra, Tabitha and Kenny; sister Pat Smith (Fred Monteith), brother Douglas Lambert (Trish Hofstetter formerly) and their son Hunter. Linda was predeceased by her father, John Smith and stepfather, William Lambert. She is the fondly remembered niece of Frances and Les Miller and Joan and Fred Smith. Linda spent her formal work life as a nurse working first at Freeport Hospital and then in community based nursing. Linda loved to garden and savoured her time in her yard with her flowers. She was skilled at a number of crafts including weaving and making teddy bears and spent many hours researching family history. Linda’s family will receive family and friends on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Parkminster United Church, 275 Erb St. East Waterloo, from 2:15-2:45 p.m. A celebration of life will follow in the church at 3 p.m., with a reception in the church hall. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Hopespring Cancer Support Centre or The Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family (donations available at the funeral home or on-line).
