Cote, Linda Dora; It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Linda Cote loving wife of Dan Cote and children: John( Brenda), Sue, Wendy (Mark). Lovingly remembered by he grandchildren Amanda(JordAn), Steven (Kelci), Owen, Ryan and great-granddaughters Ryleigh and Brynn. Also left to mourn her loss are her siblings: Brent Burns (Anne), Brenda Burns, Maureen Sampson (Bob), Patrick Burns (Sylvie), Debbie Clements (Kerry). Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Cap and Helen Burns and brothers Gilbert and Jack (Monica).
Linda loved her town of Cobalt that she served as councilor and Mayor during the 1980’s. In 2012 she was awarded the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee medal to honor significant contributions and achievements by Canadians. Also in 2002 she received the Queen Elizabeth Jubilee medal for her contributions to her community.
Linda may have been employed at South Temiskaming Community Futures Development Corporation but it was never just a job to her. She gave endless hours to promote this area and maintain as many businesses as possible. As per her wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no service. The family would like to thank Dr Davies and staff of Temiskaming Lodge. Memorial contributions to Temiskaming Lodge or a charity of your choice would be gratfully appreciated.
