Lawrence « Lorne » Mahar 1943-2016 At the Saint John Regional Hospital, NB, with his family by his side , on Sunday, July 24, 2016 of Lawrence « Lorne » Reginald Herbert Mahar of St. John, NB and formerly of Charlottetown, age 72 years. Born in Charlottetown, he was a son of the late Reginald and Enid (nee Brown)Mahar. Lorne is survived by his loving wife Dianne (nee Benoit); daughters Denyse (John Stronge)of Truro, NS and Keighlae Mahar (Jordan Astorino-Fisher)of Saint John, NB; sons Dennis (Betty Yorke)of Truro, N.S., Colin and Sean of Saint John, NB; grandchildren Nadine, Tyler, Jessica and Tamara of Truro, N.S. and 6 great-grandchildren; brothers Doug (Muriel Murphy) of Charlottetown and Kevin (Mary Vessey); sisters Diane (William Gallant) of Charlottetown and Janet (Ron Brown) of Peterborough, Ontario; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother Gary and sister Carol Ann Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home until Wednesday morning, then transferred to St. Pius X Church for funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held on August 6, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 91 Waterloo St, Saint John, NB.
