Obituary of Kenneth Kelk KELK: Kenneth – A resident of Blenheim, and formerly of Windsor, Ken Kelk passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance – Chatham Campus on Friday, March 18, 2016 at the age of 91. Born in Ford City (Windsor), Ken was the son of the late Arthur and Annie (Betts) Kelk. Beloved husband of 65 years to Ruth Kelk. Loving father of Denise Woolson (Kent) of Windsor and Cheryl Moss (Randy) of Waterloo. Proud grandfather of Jennifer Rounding (Shaun) of Kitchener, Pamela Moss of Waterloo, Dayna DeNapoli of Waterloo and Brandon DeNapoli of Windsor. Dear brother to George Kelk (late Kay) of Orillia, Ruth Zavitz (late Jim) of Windsor. Predeceased by his brothers Alfred Kelk (Dorothy) and Arnold Kelk (Dorothy). Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Ken joined the Royal Canadian Air Force when he was 18 years old, and served during WWII until he was discharged at age 21. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 143 Windsor, Br. 12 Windsor and Br. 185 Blenheim. He was also active with the Canada Post Heritage Club, the Morpeth Heritage Club, and the former Wing 411. Ken loved playing cards with his family and friends: especially euchre. He enjoyed wintering in Florida for 25 years with his wife Ruth. Special thanks to Dr. Verburg and the ICU staff at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for their care and compassion as well as to The Rev. David Fuller for his ongoing support. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Thursday, March 24, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. until the Legion Service at 2:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service with The Rev. David Fuller officiating. Private family interment to be held at Victoria Memorial Gardens in Windsor at a later date. Donations made in memory of Ken to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, Salvation Army or St. Paul’s Anglican Church would be appreciated.
