Karen A. Myles (nee Hanley)
1942-2017
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of
Karen Myles at Ridgewood Veterans Wing – Victory Lane on Saturday,
June 3, 2017. She passed peacefully with her devoted husband
Gordon at her side. She was born on November 14, 1942 in
Saint John, NB and was the daughter of the late Gerard and Mary
(Horgan) Hanley.
Karen was an amazing and loving person who had a zest for
life. In her earlier years, she worked at Allingham Travel
as a travel agent and tour guide. She had the opportunity to
travel various parts of the world on her agency tours. In
1976, Karen was the travel agent for the World’s Largest
Hockey Tournament held in Saint John, NB.
Karen is survived by her loving husband, Gordon Myles of
Saint John; son, Anthony (Chanti) McCready of Ontario; brothers, David
(Judy) Hanley of Ontario, Rick Hanley and Mark (Colleen) Hanley all of
BC; sisters, Terry Hanley and Marilyn Hanley both of BC; stepchildren,
Wayne (Joan) Myles, Hutson (Diana) Myles all of NS, Carol Myles, Bette
(Stan) Theriault all of Saint John, Barbara (Jeff) Baldwin of
Kingston, NB and her two devoted nieces, Lori (Sean) Irish of Saint
John and Linda Duff of BC; as well as well as numerous nieces,
nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Karen will
be sadly missed by her loving and faithful companion,
Simba.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation
to the amazing staff of Ridgewood’s Victory Lane for the
care they afforded Karen. They went above and beyond to make sure
Karen’s last days were as comfortable as possible. From the
bottom of our hearts, We Thank You.
At Karen’s request, there will be no visitation or
service. There will be a Celebration of Life on Friday, June
9, 2017 from 2-4pm at Grannan’s Seafood Restaurant
(upstairs), 1 Market Square, Saint John. Arrangements are
under the care and direction of Brenan’s
Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John
(634-7424).
Remembrances may be made to the NB Association for Community
Living or a charity of donor’s
choice.
