It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Judy on October 31, 2016 at the
age of 67 years. She was the cherished wife of Martin. Survived by her loving mother Jeanette Huisman née Laskey (Casey Huisman); Predeceased by her father Norman Kranz. Devoted mother of Nicole (James King), Kim
(Ryan Van Nest) and Claire. Loving grand-mère of Owen, Madeleine, Benjamin and Sebastien.
Dearest sister of Sharon Patry, Karen Kenny (pre-deceased), Nancy Handziuk, Douglas Kranz, Christine Gardner, and Steven Huisman
Judy made her family her priority and took tremendous pride in them. She was one who
always put the needs of others before her own. She loved to shop for others often using her skills as a
negotiator to get that “Bargain”. Judy will be fondly remembered for her creativity, spending countless
hours sharing her passion of crafting with her grandkids and as a volunteer beautifying the windows of
the Villages of Sandalwood and decorating her home for the holidays. In recent years, she developed a
love of cottage life for relaxation and photography. Judy will be sadly missed and fondly remembered
by all who knew her. Family and friends will be received at the Scott Funeral Home “Brampton”, (289
Main Street North) on Friday November 4, 2016 from 4 – 8 pm and Saturday November 5, 2016 from 12
– 1 pm when a Celebration of Judy’s life will be held in the Scott Funeral Home Chapel commencing at 1
pm. Private Cremation has taken place. Judy’s ashes will be laid to rest at a later date. In lieu of flowers,
Donations to Princess Margaret Hospital – Leukemia Research or The University Health Network would
be appreciated by the family. In memory of Judy, please consider becoming a registered blood donor.
The family wishes to thank all family and friends who have offered their ongoing support, as well as the
healthcare teams for taking such great care of Judy throughout her treatment.
