1941-2016
BYARD, Josephine Roseann- Age 75, Sunnyville, Guysborough Co.
Born in Guysborough on June 8, 1941 she passed away peacefully at home
on Sunday, December 11, 2016. She was the daughter of Joseph Mansfield
and the late Marian Mansfield (Borden).
She was the wife of Howard Byard Sr. for 56 years and the
loving mother of, Howard Jr. (Linda), Canso; Doreen (James),
Dartmouth; Phyllis (Ali), Toronto; Marian, Guysborough; Dwayne
(Patsy), Lower Sackville; Calvin (Diana), Enfield; Stephen,
Sunnyville; Sandra (Michael), Eastern Passage; Jeffrey (Kelly),
Canning; Perry (Pina), Dartmouth; Clifford, Guysborough. She is also
survived by siblings, Yvonne, Grand Falls, NL; Albert (Linda),
Sunnyville; Clyde (Janie), Toronto; Joey (Cathrina), Toronto; Walter,
Sunnyville; Michael (Marian), Sunnyville; Roland (Maryann),
Sunnyville; Maurice, Toronto; Brian (Bonnie), Antigonish; Ruby (John),
Sunnyville; foster sister, Nellie, Toronto; foster brother, Ron,
Toronto. She also leaves to mourn 18 grandchildren and 6
great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her mother, Marian;
brother, Frederick and a sister in infancy.
Josephine was very dedicated to her church and community. Our
mother lived everyday of her 75 years the way she wanted to,
surrounded by her family and friends. To her they were her pulse, her
reason to live and how she valued her true self-worth by the amount of
love she had in her heart and in her life for all of them. She was
happiest when she was surrounded by the ones she loved. We the family
would like to thank all the Dr’s and nursing staff of
Guysborough Memorial Hospital and the Halifax Kidney Transplant
Unit.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 14, from 2-4 and 7-9
p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough. Funeral service
will be 2 p.m. Thursday from Sunnyville United Baptist Church with
Rev. Pauline Coffin officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen
Cemetery, Guysborough. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations
may be made to the Sunnyville United Baptist Church. Words of comfort
