Garisto, Joseph Vincent Nov.17, 1935– May 29, 2016 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joe at the age of 80. He is survived by his loving wife Dolores, 3 sons, Michael (Nancy), Steve (Debbie) and Brad, his 9 grandchildren, Vincent, Joel, Andrew, Zachary, Nina, Taylor, Chase, Cole and Marissa and one adorable great-grandson, Hudson, as well as his two sisters Rita (John) and Mona and numerous relatives and friends. Joe married the love of his life in 1958 and they spent a remarkable and memorable 58 years together. Joe was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, serving in many capacities over 60 years. He enjoyed his retirement as a member of the Great Northern Railway Historical Society, the Burlington Northern Veterans Association, the West Coast Railway Association and the Saturday morning Quay Walker’s Club, a group of the most faithful and loyal friends any one person could ever hope for. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, 9387 Holmes Street, Burnaby on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Msgr. B. Rossi celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
