Dr. Joseph Domenic Scarfone, DDS
Surrounded by loving family, on November 2nd, Dr. Joseph Scarfone passed away peacefully at the age of 99. He was born April 24, 1918 in Welland, ON. Beloved husband of Margaret for 67 wonderful years. Loving father of Joe (Lynda), Janice (Don) Carmichael, Judy (Ron) Antenbring, Jeff (Rosanne) and John (Irene). Cherished grandfather of Kathryn (David), Lisa and David; Jackie, Kevin (Kayla), Robbie, Lauren; Christina (Peter) and James; Joseph and Nicholas; Laura. Also survived by his dear brother Frank (Anne). Predeceased by his parents Rocco and Vincenza and 5 siblings, Anthony (Sally), Carmella Gerace (Antonio), Delina Carere (Carl), Delia Arel (Orville), Sonto (Pat) and sister-in-law Joan Scarfone. Caring uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Dr. Scarfone graduated from the University of Toronto in 1945 and practiced dentistry in Windsor, ON for 48 years. He was an astute investor. He pursued an active lifestyle and particularly enjoyed his many years spent on the squash courts.
Dr. Joseph and Margaret Scarfone moved to Guelph in 1999 to be closer to family in retirement years. His greatest enjoyment in life came from the love he shared with his wife Margaret and time spent with family. Joseph strongly promoted the importance of close family ties. He always showed great interest and enthusiasm towards everyone and was the world’s best listener! Joseph was loved immensely and will be sorely missed forever.
A Memorial Service will be held at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph, ON, on Wednesday, November 8th at 12:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Donations made to the Salvation Army or Hospice Wellington would be appreciated.
