Joseph Brian Melanson

Joseph Brian Melanson passed away at the age of
86 on October 3rd, 2017 at Chaleur Regional
Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Bathurst, he was the son of
late Theodore « Ted » in 1976 and late Gertrude
« Gertie » ( née Sewell) in 1996 and by his
siblings Henry Merle in 1991 and Beulah in
2005.
He will be sadly missed by dear cousins Susan
Stevenson (Brian), Andrew Foster (Lynn) and Kevin Foster (Lori) and
their families and by all the Melanson and Hussey
families.
Brian studied at Marquette University in
Milwaukee and graduated from the University of Windsor. Brian was
employed by Canadian Tire Corporation in Toronto where he embraced
city life. Upon his return to New Brunswick he worked as a financial
auditor for the New Brunswick Liquor
Commission.
He was a long time
member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Herman J. Good, VC, Branch 18 and
of United Commercial
Travelers.
Brian enjoyed fishing
and bird hunting at « The Camp » on the Nepisiguit
River, and loved classical
music.
At his request there will not be
a visitations or funeral service. A private interment service will
follow at Holy Family Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of
Elhatton Funeral Home in Bathurst.
