John Joyce

John Joyce

It is with very heavy heart that his family announces his passing at the Timmins and District Hospital on August 29, 2016 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Yvette (Landry) for 59 years and cherished father of Eileen (Charles Tkaczuk) of Mount Forest and Christine (Shawn Koshowski) of Chapel Island. John will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Vince (Sarah) and Stephanie Tkaczuk and Samantha and Eric Koshowski, his sisters Betty Joyce, Margaret Power and Darlene Harte and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Macdara and Mary Agnes Joyce, sister, Eileen Mullaney, brother Christopher and grandson, Scott Koshowski. John was employed by Abitibi Paper Mill in Smooth Rock Falls, ON for 10 years and Dominion Stores in Timmins for 31 years. His greatest pleasure was travelling with his family which he did from coast to coast in Canada and the U.S.A. John was a very talented and dedicated artist whose portraits hang in many homes today. The family wishes to sincerely thank Dr. Tammy Hopkins and also extends their thanks to The Timmins and District Hospital staff on Medical A for their time and their compassionate care. Very special thanks to family friends, Eric and Bruna Hamilton and Lisa Torp for their love and support. The family will receive friends on Wednesday August 31, 2016 from 10 am to noon at
LESSARD-STEPHENS Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at noon in the chapel. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, remembrance donations may be made to the Parkinson Society of Canada or the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation.
