1925-2017
Bathurst – It is with sadness that
we the family announce the peaceful passing of Mrs. Joan Sullivan,
wife of the late R.B. « Rob » Sullivan, formerly of Riverside
Dr., Bathurst, which occurred Tuesday November 7, 2017, at the Foyer
Notre Dame de Lourdes, Bathurst, at the age of 92.
Joan was born in Brighton, England, she was the
daughter of the late James and Agnes (Phipps) Donnelly.
Joan came to Canada as a War Bride in 1946 and leaves
behind four children: Donna Clinch (Roger) and Bob Jr.
both of Bathurst, Terry Bourque of Moncton, Craig (Christine Griffith)
of
Burlington.
Nine grandchildren:
Tracy, Rob and Jonathan Clinch; Carla Dempsey, Mike and Lindsey
Bourque; Tanner and Lacey Sullivan and Sara Sullivan; great
grandchildren: Julia, Rebecca, Emily, Elliana, Lyla, Nathan Grace and
Eli.
One sister, Betty
Lewis (Allan) and a sister-in-law, Winnie Donnelly both of the United
Kingdom. Several nieces and
nephews.
Besides her husband
and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Brian.
Joan was a
homemaker who loved to sew, knit and do needlepoint.
She was a great seamstress, who taught sewing classes in the
evenings at BHS for many years. She was an accomplished
artist whose paintings have been enjoyed by
many.
She was a member of the Nicholas Denys IODE
and served as Regent on two separate occasions. She was also
a member of the Gowan Brae Golf Club and the Bathurst Curling
Club.
There will be no visitations at the Funeral
Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday November 10,
2017 at 4 p.m. from Holy Family Church, Bathurst. Donations
in Joan’s memory may be made to the Foyer Notre Dame de
Lourdes or to a favorite charity. Arrangements are in the
care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com),
Bathurst.
