Joan Dever
Joan Dever, 79, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The
Moncton Hospital on Sunday, June 11, 2017. Born in Oldham,
Lancashire, Great Britain, she was the daughter of the late John and
Annie (Wilson) Bardsley.
Joan was a retired Teacher’s Assistant, with over
25 years’ service, having worked with children at various
schools in the Greater Moncton area, retiring from Queen Elizabeth
School. She devoted her whole career to special needs children. Joan
was loving, caring and a friend to everyone she knew. She enjoyed
reading, writing in her daily journal and spending time with her
granddaughter.
Joan will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 60 years,
Bernard Dever of Moncton; children, Gary Dever (Melanie) and Craig
Dever (Sonia), both of Moncton; cherished granddaughter, Josee;
sister, Rita Brown of Manchester, England and several close
friends.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date to
celebrate and honour Joan’s life.
