Jean Ward – 2017

Jean Ward, of Hanover, passed away from Pneumonia during her fight with Lung Cancer at Hanover and District Hospital, Hanover on Tuesday, October 31, 2017.
Born to the late Alf and Ethel (nee Filsinger) in Walkerton. Jean loved nothing more than to help others. So much so, that she went to school and completed her studies in RPN. She was employed for over 30 years with The Village Senior’s Community Retirement Home in Hanover and enjoyed bringing residents and their families smiles to their faces.
Survived by devoted husband Charlie Ward of Hanover. Caring and devoted mother of Donna (Alvin) Eidt of Philipsburg, Larry Ward of Elmwood and Marsha (John) Allen of New Lowell. She cherished time with her grandchildren; Chad (Jill), Tim (Amanda), Ryan (Healy), Jennifer, Cindy, Jeff, Victoria, Dalton, J.C and Matt. Joyous times were spent with great grandchildren Savannah, Billy, Rachel, Wyatt, Abigail, Alex, Tanner, Jaycob, Nathan and Abigail. Also survived by her brothers Orbin (Doreen) Eickmeier, Bob (Bev) Eickmeier, sisters Grace Busby, Marjorie Sheppherd and by her brother and sisters in law Bill (Cindy), Aubrey (Phyllis), Mary Ann, Joan, Betty and Bonnie. Her love for her many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews will be missed as she was so proud of all their accomplishments. Predeceased by her parents, Alfred and Ethel and brother Earl and brother in law James.
Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Friday, November 3, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm where a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 04, 2017 at 10:30 am. Interment in McIntosh United Church Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart & Stoke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
