James Vernon “Vern” Handrahan
1936-2016
At the Provincial Palliative Care Centre on Wednesday, Nov 2, 2016 of
James Vernon “Vern” Handrahan, age 79 years. Beloved
husband of Ann (nee Bradley). Dear father of Christopher
“Val” (Amanda Butler) and Amy Handrahan (Donnie Chapman).
Loving grandfather of Brian Handrahan, Julie Handrahan and Kennedy
Sillars. Brother-in-law of Colleen Handrahan. Predeceased by his
parents Victor and Etta (Villard) Handrahan and by his brothers Daniel
Victor, Victor Daniel and Joe. Former professional baseball player;
the only PEI professional baseball player to make it to the Major
League. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home from where the funeral
liturgy will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 11:30
a.m. Interment in Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown. Visitation
Friday 4-7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Provincial
Palliative Care Centre.
