James Jim Alvin George Joudrey – 1941-2017

James « Jim » Alvin George Joudrey
1941-2017
The family of James « Jim » Joudrey, beloved husband
of Ruth Joudrey, sadly announces his death that occurred on Wednesday,
May 10th, 2017 at Kennebec Manor with family at
his side. Born April 1st, 1941 in
Saint John, Jim was the eldest son of the late Alvin and Margaret
(Scribner) Joudrey.
As a child Jim moved to Oak Point to live with his
grandparents and to live on the farm. It’s during
these years Jim worked hard alongside his grandfather, learning
everything he could about hard work and life on the farm. Jim always
had a story to tell about lessons learned while living and growing up
in Oak Point.
Later in life, Jim would meet the love of his life Ruth and
would settle and raise their 4 children in the place closest to his
heart, Oak Point.
Prior to his retirement, Jim had a long working career with
CP Transport. After retirement, he loved working in his
garage on various projects. Jim enjoyed afternoon lunches with Ruth at
the camp and long Sunday drives with friends or by
themselves. Most of all he adored his grandchildren and
treasured the times spent with them. Although Jim lived away
from Oak Point for the last couple of years, Oak Point could never be
taken out of Jim.
In addition to his wife of nearly 54 years, Ruth, Jim is also
survived by their children, Kathy Joudrey of Grand Bay-Westfield, Ross
Joudrey (Kim) of Oak Point, Jamey Joudrey (Tracey) of Oak Point and
Andrew Joudrey (Dawn) of Woodmans Point; brothers Jerry Joudrey
(Karen) of Chipman, Ralph Joudrey (Cathy) of Bloomfield and Vance
Joudrey of the Kingston Peninsula; sister Ellen Collins (Doug) of
Quispamsis; 6 cherished grandchildren, Keenan Wedge-Joudrey,
Jarrett Joudrey, Miranda Dickie, Logan Joudrey, Melinda Dickie and
Tiernan Wedge-Joudrey; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Mary Lou
Wiggins of Apohaqui; as well as several nieces, nephews and
cousins. A very special thank you to Ronald Northrup for his
decades of friendship, Jim certainly considered you as one of his
brothers.
Jim, you will forever be loved and missed by all who knew
you. Thank you to all the nurse’s,
doctor’s and support workers that cared for Jim during his
time at Kennebec Manor. Bonnie, thank you for all the entertainment
you brought into Jim’s day.
As per Jim’s request, no visitation or funeral service will
be held. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held
at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and
direction of Brenan’s funeral
Home, 111 Paradise Row Saint John
