Bissell, James (Jim)
Passed away peacefully, on Monday, November 21, 2016 at Sunnyside Home at the age of 90.
Beloved husband of Dorothy (nee Feil) Bissell for 65 years.
Predeceased by parents Lloyd and Inez (nee Law) Bissell and sister Margaret Rudd.
Survived by many nieces and nephews.
Jim graduated from Western with a BA and became a Chartered Accountant and retired as a partner with KPMG. He was an avid sailor and a member of the Georgian Bay Yacht Club, Owen Sound. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed walking, camping fishing and skating. He also enjoyed family parties and special occasions and music.
Jim’s family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Parish prayers 3:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. Prayers will be offered in the funeral home on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 9:20 a.m. followed by procession to St. Mary’s R.C. Church, 56 Duke Street, Kitchener for funeral mass at 10 a.m.
Reception to follow at the funeral home with interment at St. Mary / St.Joseph Cemetery, Elora. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Mary’s R.C. Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
Special thanks to the nurses and doctors and caregivers at St. Mary’s Hospital, Fergus Place and Sunnyside Home who made Jim’s life comfortable.
