1926-2017
The death of
James Alban Laviolette, husband of Shirley Ursula (Goudreau)
Laviolette, occurred at Bobby’s Hospice on Saturday, March
25, 2017. James was born on September 3, 1926 in Jacquet
River, NB and was a son of the late John and Mary Ellen (Furlotte)
Laviolette.
He was the
owner/operator of Laviolette Shell Service Station on the West Side
for twenty-eight years. James was an avid woodworker,
enjoyed sports and anything to do with the great
outdoors.
James is
survived by his sons, Arthur (Terrilee), Paul (Patti), Michael, Carl
(Darlene) all of Saint John and Charles (Shelly) of Nerepis; brother,
John (Irene) of Saint John; sisters, Derilda Degrechie, Myrtle
(Eugene) Henry and Bernadette (James) Babin of Jacquet River;
grandchildren, James (Megan), Kristen (Mark), Natilie, Sean, Ryan,
Chelsea and Nicholas; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Rhylee, Brooke,
Owen and Charleigh; as well as several nieces, nephews and
cousins.
In addition
to his parents, James was also predeceased by his brothers, Billy and
Norby and sisters, Mae, Gladys, Maizie, Shirley and
Charlotte.
By request of
the family there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated from St. Matthew’s Church, Grand
Bay-Westfield on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Interment will
take place at St. Augustine’s Cemetery at a later
date. Arrangements are in the care of
Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home,
1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John
(634-7425).
For those who
wish, remembrances may be made to Bobby’s Hospice, Saint
John Regional Hospital Foundation, St. Joseph’s Hospital
Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
