ASHFORD, Jack Floyd
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather on January, 27, 2017 at the age of 81. Born in Yarmouth, he was a son of the late Mamie Ashford (Clements). He leaves behind the love of his life Margaret “Marg” after 55 years of marriage. His loving children Jacqueline Ashford-Ray (Ron Ray), Kim Ashford (Laura Livingstone) of Vancouver, Patricia (Robby) Ashford Boutilier of Vancouver, Linda (Darren) Aldridge of Calgary; grandchildren Victoria, Kathleen, Calum, Harry, Evie, and Celia; brothers Russell (Anne) of Keswick, Ontario, Malcolm (Caroline) of Missanabie, Ontario, Churchill (Shirley) of Seabrook, Digby Co., sisters Joyce (Harry) Budd, of Seabrook, Digby Co., and Sarah (Baz) Kelly of London, Ontario; many nieces and nephews. Jack was in the Royal Canadian Airforce for 33 years, stationed in Summerside, Torbay, Greenwood, Germany, Cold Lake, and Shearwater. Upon his retirement from the RCAF, Jack worked at IMP and also at Barrett Lumber. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and ATV-ing at his cottage in East Dalhousie. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 30 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, January 31 at 11 a.m. in St. John Vianney RC Church, 4 Beaver Bank Rd, Lower Sackville. Reception to follow in the church hall. Burial in Oakridge Memorial Gardens, 1078 Old Sackville Rd. For those wishing, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
