DOUCET, John Edward “Eddie” – age 77, Hubbard’s Point, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 26, 2017 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born June 12, 1940 in Hubbard’s Point, he was a son of the late Frederick G. and M. Leonie (Muise) Doucette. Eddie was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 8988 Tusket. He is survived by a sister, Jeanne Doucette, Yarmouth, as well as by brothers, Thomas Doucette, Halifax and Freddie Doucette, Etobicoke, ON in addition to several nieces and nephews. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Doucette. Eddie is now free to walk all he wants. His teasing and sense of humour will be greatly missed. Visitation will take place from 7-9 p.m., Saturday and again from 2-4 and 7-9 Sunday, with prayers at 8 p.m. Sunday, in H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth. The funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 30 in Saint Anne’s Church, Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau, Father Albeni d’Entremont officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. It has been requested that there be family flowers only. Donations in Eddie’s memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
