Palmer, J. Alma – 90, Wentworth, passed away Monday, December 25, 2017 in the Mira, Truro. Born in Saint John, NB, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Mary (King) Hovey. Alma was a longtime resident of Wentworth and was member of the Wentworth United Church and was a life member of it’s UCW. She is survived by sons, William “Bun”, Lincoln, NB; John (Cathy), Mabou; Peter (Heather), Wentworth; Morgan (Debbie), Valley, NS; Casey (Gina), Brooklyn, NS; brothers, Doug, Ward, and Victor; sister, Joan; 16 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband, William “Bill”; brothers, Irvine, Calvin, Edward, Edmund, Charles,, Austin and Melvin; sisters, Mary, Lily and Violet. Visitation will be from 2-4 pm Thursday, December 28 in MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home, 14067 Hwy. 4, Wentworth (902-447-2930). A funeral service for Alma will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 29 in the Wentworth United Church. In lieu of flowers, Donations may be made to the Wentworth United Church or the Upper Wentworth Cemetery. Private condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.mmcfunerals.com
