Isabel Grotterød
1926-2017
It is with great sadness that the family announces that
Isabel Edwina (MacMaster) Grotterød, passed away peacefully
on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in
Fredericton, New Brunswick. Born in Maxville, Ontario on January 7,
1926, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Isabella (Ardley)
MacMaster and wife of the late Knut
Grotterød.
It was in the late 1940’s while studying to be a
registered nurse at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Montreal, Quebec,
that she met her husband, Knut. She was a devoted wife, mother,
grandmother and great grandmother. Isabel always had a
listening ear and a helping hand to anybody in need.
Isabel is survived by her children, Ingrid
Grotterød Cyr (Thomas), Christopher Grotterød
(Debbra), and Karen Grotterød Milczarek (John), grandmother
to Erik (Sandra), Karl, Stefan, Kristian, Nina and Grant and great
grandmother to Karma, Kaia and Lokki.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff
at St. Anne’s Court and the Wellness Connections as well as
the DECH Palliative Care Team for the great care and attention they
gave Isabel.
There will be no visitation by request of the family. A
memorial service will be held at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church on
Friday, November 24, 2017 at 2 pm. A reception will follow the service
in the church hall.
If desired, donations in Isabel’s memory may be
made to Canadian Cancer Society or any charitable organization of your
choice.
