Irene May Scott
1924-2017
SCOTT, IRENE MAY – 92, Halifax formerly of
Boylston, Guys Co. Died Wednesday, March 1, 2017 in the loving company
of her family, at Dartmouth General Hospital. Irene was born
in York, Ontario, and was the youngest child of George Albert and Ruby
Violet (Gough) Beauchamp, who emigrated from London, England to
Toronto, Canada early in the 20th
century. A book binder by trade and a sweetheart by nature,
Irene loved to laugh and throughout her long life, her witty comments
and lively antics were the delight of family and
friends.
Irene’s legacy lives through her six children:
Lesley (Stephen DeLong: »Oh, what’s his name,
again? ») Liverpool, NS; John (Theresa Anderson)
Porter’s Lake, NS; David (Lisa Gallant) Boylston, NS; Terri
(Wayne Jones) Stewart, BC; Sharleen (Robert Hearn) Dartmouth, NS; and
Robby, Abbotsford, BC; and she will be deeply missed by her fourteen
grandchildren: Tessa, Lindsey, Gabrielle, Drew, Brynne, Ewanne, Alex,
Nick, Mackenzie, Lauren, Josh, Hayden, Tristan and Jodi.
Irene is also survived by five great-grandchildren: William, Ellie,
Merrina, Nathan, Aireana and Chase. She was predeceased by:
her husband, John Victor Scott who died in 2002; her sister, Doris;
and her brother, George.
Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral service in
remembrance and celebration of Irene Scott, to be held at Wesley
United Church, Guysborough, NS, on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at 11 a.m.
with Reverend Heather Manuel officiating. Burial in
Evergreen Cemetery will follow. Cremation has taken
place.
Donations in Irene’s memory may be made to the
Heart and Stroke Foundation, and by request, family flowers only
please.
