Irene Griffin
Irene Marie Griffin, 81, of K. E. Spencer Memorial Home,
Moncton, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday,
September 28, 2017. Born in Little Brook, Nova Scotia, she was the
daughter of the late Edmond and Lucie (Saulnier) LeBlanc.
Irene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great
grandmother and sister. She attended St. Augustine’s Roman
Catholic Church which she faithfully served in numerous capacities
over the years. Irene enjoyed quilting, caring for her family and
spending time with her granddaughters and great granddaughter.
Irene will be sadly missed by her sons, Paul of Ottawa, ON
and James « Jim » of Moncton; two granddaughters, Lisa
Griffin-Ndour (Talla) and Christine Griffin (Jacques Allain), both of
Moncton; great granddaughter, Salimata; sister, Rose-Marie Edgerly of
Norwood, Mass, as well as several nieces, nephews and
extended family members.
In addition to her parents, Irene was predeceased by her
husband, George William « Bill » Griffin (August
2011); sister, Dorothy Phelan and brother, Alfred LeBlanc.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of K. E.
Spencer Memorial Home (Evergreen Wing) for the thoughtfulness and
wonderful care given to Irene during her stay.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road,
Moncton (858-1995) on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. A Mass of Christian
Burial to celebrate and honour Irene’s life will be held at
St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, 340 Dominion St., on
Monday, October 2, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Allison Carroll
presiding. A reception to follow in the Church Hall following Mass.
Private interment will be held in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery,
Dieppe.

Alzheimer Society of Southeast NB or memorial of choice. Online
