Ingeborg Wiencke – 2017

Obituary
Ingeborg Elsa Wiencke (née Mueller) died on Monday November 6, 2017 in Pointe-Claire, Quebec.
Born in Plieningen, Germany to Paul and Emma (Bayha). She moved to Canada in the mid 1950’s and was soon employed by Northern Telecom. She was a member of the Orchid Society, Horticultural Society, Twizlers Guild, Glengarry Pioneer Museum; she was an early member of S.T.O.P. in Montreal and the Pointe-Claire Organic Food Co-op. She volunteered at the Maxville Manor, Surrey Gardens Public School library and the West Island Girl Guides. She enjoyed with great gusto reading, gardening, doing crosswords, weaving, sewing, knitting, cooking and baking; but she especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She will be remembered for being a `Richtiger Schwabe’, her resourcefulness and being a terrific Oma.
She is survived by her children, Nancy McCaughey (Patrick) and Stephen; her grandchildren Mary Hanchard (Paul), Stephen and Charlotte, and her sisters in Sielmingen, Germany, Doris Hertler and Gretel Neumann.
Service will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 11:00am with lunch to follow; Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church, 57 Westpark, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation.
