The family announces with sorrow his passing on Saturday March 18, 2017 at Health Sciences North in Sudbury, at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Madeleine (nee Brazeau)
Loving father of Marc Dumas (Brenda) and Daniel Dumas.
Cherished grandfather of Noah and Ethan Dumas, Dominique and Jacob Dumas.
He is survived by his daughter-in-law Carol Scott, his sisters Monique Dumas-St-Denis and Nicole Dumas.
Predeceased by his parents Jean and Irène Dumas, his brothers Claude and Jean-Louis and by his sister Suzanne Dupuis. Hubert was born in Saint-André-Avellin, Québec in 1938 and was the 3rd youngest of 6 children. He came to Timmins at the age of 14 years old and began a career in mining construction.
He was an entrepreneur and self-employed since 1969.
It was in the mid 1980’s that he began to lay the foundation for what is now a company that is a global leader in engineering and construction.
He was a dedicated family man and loved to spend time with his grandchildren.
He was most comfortable when he was outdoors. He absolutely loved fishing and hunting.
He was a true gentleman and will be sorely missed
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday March 25, 2017 at St. Anthony’s Cathedral.
The family will receive friends on Friday March 24 from 7-9 pm at Lessard-Stephens Funeral Home.
Donations made to the Heart and Stroke Canada or to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation will be greatly appreciated.
