In Loving Memory
It is great sadness that we announce the passing of Hind Halabi (née Salti). Born in Jerusalem, Palestine, she was one of six children (Sami, Adel, Raja, Issa, and Nada). She lived with her parents Mudhdhalaleh and Jirius, in Jerusalem, until they were forced to leave their home in 1951. She wed Ispiro Halabi in 1959 where they lived in Nablus and Ramallah, immigrating to Canada in 1971. She is survived by two brothers Raja and Issa; children Nahla (George), Hala (Joseph), Mai (Alan), and Awad (Barbara); and ten grandchildren Natasha, Fouad, Sami, Mitri, Angela, Matthew, Liam, Aidan, Ispiro Saba, and Jenin. She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitations will be held at Highland Funeral Home, 10 Cachet Woods Court, Markham, ON, L6C 3G1, Sunday December 10, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm. The memorial service will be held on Monday December 11, 2017, at 10:30am, at Saint George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 9116 Bayview Avenue, Richmond Hill, ON, L4B 3R9. Internment will follow the service at Elgin Mills Cemetery, 1591 Elgin Mills Road East, Richmond Hill.
