Bill passed away peacefully on January 25, 2017 in Vancouver at the age of 88.
Predeceased by his son, James; sister, Ruth; and brother, Michael. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Margaret (O’Brien); daughter, Susan (Sridhar); sons, Herb (Shelley), Kevin (Vicki), Patrick (Gabrielle), and Michael (Ardyth); grandchildren, Maxine, Kelsey, Rajesh, Jaslyn, Will, Kiran, Connor, Jessica, Samantha, Ben, Kate, and Matthew; sisters, Mary Park (Kimberley), Jane Haque (Toronto); brothers, John (Mansonville, Quebec), Tony (Calgary), and Steve (Calgary); and many nieces and nephews.
Born in East Orange, New Jersey, USA on October 25, 1928, Bill’s family soon moved to Montreal, where he grew up, married and started a family. After a brief period in Winnipeg, Bill’s clan settled in Vancouver in 1963. Bill’s family flourished in the Lower Mainland where all the kids still reside.
Key involvements for Bill included the Gyro Club of Vancouver, Little League Baseball, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Vancouver, Friends of the Vancouver Public Library, the Alcuin Society and his membership at the Point Grey Golf and Country Club. Bill enjoyed a fulfilling career as a Chartered Accountant including significant periods working with the firms of Ernst & Ernst and Loewen Stronach.
