Barefoot, Herbert Spurrel —
Passed away peacefully, at home, with his family by his side on Tuesday, October 17, 2017. Herb Barefoot, age 77 years, was the beloved husband of Fay (Chamberlain) Barefoot. He was the loving father of Glenn and his wife Johanne, Karen, Kelly, and the loving step-father of Laura and her husband Glen Lazenby, Judi Lynn Vangeel, and Michelle and her husband Dave Leslie. Herb was the proud grandfather of 9 grandchildren. He was the dear brother of Edith Roberts and her husband Dawson, and predeceased by his two brothers, Oliver and Bill. Herb will be deeply missed by his brothers and sisters-in-law, and by his many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their special thanks to Kelly C. at Bayshore Nursing for all her wonderful care and kindness.
Private cremation has taken place. The family will receive their friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 10 a.m. – 12 noon. A celebration of Herb’s life will follow in the chapel at 12 noon. Interment of ashes in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Guelph. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or to the Make A Wish Foundation of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
