Helen Beck
Helen Beck passed away peacefully in Royal University Hospital at the age of 85 years.
Helen was born in Allan Saskatchewan on May 26, 1932. In 1973 she moved to Saskatoon where she was employed by Rickie’s Ladies Wear. In 1975 she worked for Dave’s Electric and in 1976 worked for UCS Group Ltd. Where she then became manager of the UCS Gift Shop in the Bessborough Hotel and Radisson, formerly the Ramada Hotel; she retired in 1997. Helen was a choir member at St. Paul’s Cathedral for many years, and loved singing. Helen began volunteering with the CWL in 1999. She enjoyed life surrounded by wonderful family and friends. She was able to extend her generous nature to help whenever she could. Family was very important. She believed in the golden rule and the values taught by her parents. Helen never forgot to say her prayers of thankfulness and pray for help when needed. She would say, “I kept God Busy”. She often proclaimed thank you for all of my family and good friends.
Helen is survived by 2 brothers, Theodore Beck, Jacob (Iva) Beck; and numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her parents, Kasper and Katherina Beck; brothers and sisters, Roy (Magdelina) Beck, Marcus (Frances) Beck, Roseanne (John) Silbernagel, Tony (Amy) Beck, Eva (Anton) Usselman, Caroline (Thomas) Brandel, Joseph (Lillian) Beck, Matthew Beck, Martha (William) Nakonechny, Anna (Tony) Parro, Regina(George) Boyne, Frances (Frank) Stewart, , Katherina (Harold) Boyne, Pius (Margaret) Beck
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at ST. Paul’s Co-Cathedral at 720 Spadina Crescent East in Saskatoon, with Father Nestor Silva, OMI as celebrant on Saturday October 21, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. Following the Mass, interment of Helen’s Ashes will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. In lieu of Flowers Memorial donations can be made to the Saskatchewan Cancer Society.
