Hartley Ambrose (Hood) McGee
1926-2016
Ambrose (Hood) McGee of Harvey Station, NB passed away September 18,
2016 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Hood was born at Harvey
Lake Road, NB in 1926, a son of the late Hartley C. And Mildred M.
(Hood) McGee. During his working years he had been employed with CPR,
Irving Oil, Shell Oil, a Stanley Insurance inspector and a self
employed oil burner mechanic. Hood was a former member of the NB
Antique Auto Club, the Harvey Curling Club and a charter member of the
Harvey Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marion J. (Mills) McGee; his
children, Derek McGee (Beverly), Sussex, NB and Leanne Buckingham
(Michael), Harvey, NB; his grandchildren, Erin and Zachery Buckingham;
a brother, Raymond McGee (Marg), Fredericton, NB; a sister-in-law,
Joan MacLean, Fredericton, NB and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Hood was predeceased by an infant son and
his siblings, Dorothy Vance, Elwood and Purdy McGee.
Although there will be no visiting hours, friends are welcome to
attend a funeral service to be held at St. Andrew’s United
Church, 2350 Route 3, Harvey, NB on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 2
p.m. with Rev. Kay Clowater officiating. Interment will be in Harvey
Settlement Cemetery.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Hood, the family
has suggested St. Andrew’s United Church or a charity of the
donor’s choice.
