Halcrow Colin Lloyd Hooker
Hal passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at the Betel Home in Gimli, Manitoba. He was the youngest of 12 children, survived by his sisters Laura and Dorothy, brother Richard, many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
Hal was born in The Pas, Manitoba on February 8, 1930. Shortly after, the Hooker family moved to Winnipeg, where Hal attended Laura Secord School and Gordon Bell High School. After graduating from grade 12, Hal went directly into an accounting position and then immersed himself in the hotel/hospitality industry. He worked at the Westminster Motor Hotel, the Pembina Hotel, and then took a position at the Granite Curling Club. He made lifelong friendships along the way that he always cherished.
Hal retired in Sandy Hook, Manitoba and lived on the Sandy Hook golf course. He enjoyed golfing and also watching the players from his deck.
Hal recently moved to the Betel Home. The family wishes to thank the staff at Betel Home for their assistance and care they provided. The family would also like to thank Hal’s good friends who looked out for him for many years.
A memorial service will be held on October 31, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. in the Lakeview Resort, Gimli, MB.
