Grace E. Crawford
Grace E. Crawford, 79, of Moncton, passed
away peacefully at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital
Centre on Saturday, October 1, 2016. Born in Moncton, she
was the daughter of the late Ezra and Helen (Mollins)
Richardson.
Grace was a member of First Baptist Moncton, where she spent
many years as a member of the church choir, she could always be
counted on to contribute to any church or charitable event.
She had a passion for sewing, knitting, quilting and
crocheting. She was a former member of the Moncton Quilt
Guild Club and an active member of the Pinwheels Sewing
Club.
She and Harold enjoyed many years of active square and round
dancing. Grace was often known locally as the
« pillow case lady », coordinating the making of
pillow cases for « A Case for Smiles, » which provides
pillow cases for children at the IWK Health Centre. She was
a former member of the volunteer group at the Capitol Theatre; she
enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her
grandchildren and great grandchild.
Grace will be sadly missed by her loving husband of over 58
years, Harold Crawford of Moncton; daughters, Susan Bourgeois of
Labrador City, NL; Nancy Moody (Bruce) of Newmarket, ON; Janet Ross
(David) of Coldbrook, NS; son, Peter Crawford (Ginette) of Miscouche,
PE; cherished grandchildren, Danny, Adam and Kate Moody, Jennifer
Sullivan (Matthew), Sarah and Michael Bourgeois, Connor and Madison
Ross, Carson and Declan Crawford; great grandchild, Taylor Sullivan;
sisters, Barbara Beatty (David) of Edgewater, NB and Kathryn Morris
(Dennis) of White Rock, BC; brother, Grant Richardson (Beverley) of
Kentville, NS; many nieces, nephews and extended family
members. In addition to her parents, Grace was predeceased
her son, Douglas Crawford and sister, Joan Steeves.
Visitation will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657
Mountain Road (858-1995) Moncton on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and
7:00 to 9:00 pm. A service to celebrate and honor
Grace’s life will be held at First Baptist Moncton (157
Queen St.) on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 11:00 am with Rev. Dr. J.
Richard Jackson officiating. Interment to be held in Fair
Haven Memorial Gardens.
