Gordon James Finck
It is with profound sadness that we, the
family of Gordon James Finck, announce his passing on Sunday,
September 10, 2017 at The Moncton Hospital, after a
courageous fight with cancer.
Gordon was born on January 14, 1945 in
Moncton, New Brunswick to the late Robert R. Finck and Laura Finck
(Vautour).
Gordon was a dedicated employee with
Owens-Illinois for many years and worked with Spruce Grove Building
Cleaners during his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed
fishing, hunting and tying flies. Gordon was a man of many talents. He
loved painting, woodworking in his shop and cooking the most delicious
meals for those he loved.
He leaves behind his best friend and
soul mate of 43 years, his wife, Glenda (Hancox) Finck of
Moncton and his special dog Layla. His sons, Robert Finck (Shelley) of
Riverview, Vernon Berry of Moncton and his daughters, Tracey Berry of
Moncton and Krista McKnight (Dustin) of Petitcodiac. « Papa
G » will be deeply missed by his precious grandchildren, Cody,
Trever, Kyle, Curtis, Aaron, Cali, Presley, Avery and great grandson,
Corbin. He is survived by his brothers, Tom (Anne) Finck of Moncton
and Ronnie Finck of Amherst, NS; sister, Barb Lewis (Gerry) of
Oakville, ON and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and
friends.
In addition to his parents, Gordon was
predeceased by his mother and father-in-law, Joan Hunter and William
Hancox of England. His sons, Michael Finck, Mark Berry,
daughter-in-law, Kimberley Finck and his sister, Shirley
Finck.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home,
1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Wednesday, September 13,
2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A private
graveside service to honour Gordon’s life will be held at
Maplewood Cemetery, Petitcodiac.
In memory of Gordon, donations to the
Friends of The Moncton Hospital (Oncology Unit) would be
